Peripera Milk Blur (Banana) and Wholly Deep Jewel Pots Pre-Review

Peripera Milk Blur (Banana) and Wholly Deep Jewel Pots Pre-Review

Although I’m devoted to KBeauty entirely for skincare (unfairly rarely counting for my yearly Sephora spend and VIB Rouge status maintenance), I’m not as well acquainted with the makeup side — but I do have Peripera’s cushion blusher (Ah Much Real My Cushion Blusher in Shy Pink)  and lip tint (Tint Water in Cherry Juice, NGL, a total packaging buy).

Most of my day-to-day makeup is not Korean; exceptions include the fantastic-for-two-skin tones Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream. That was pretty much my daily jam foundation for most of 2016, and it was super-cheap and fantastically full coverage. It got benched after I picked up the giant size holiday LE of BareMinerals from Sephora, but it is just a wonderful all-around foundation for less than a third the cost of similar products.

During a recent Sephora appointment I tried Make Up For Ever‘s yellow primer and was amazed at its ability to neutralize redness. But the price was a bit steep and I also wanted to see if there were any similar products that got raves. It was super exciting to find Peripera had a similar product — Milk Blur in Banana — but there was very little to go on in terms of performance. I did find one video that gave a pretty good before and after look at the Banana Milk Blur:

So of course I bought it, and of course it won’t be here until a month from now. Sad face! But the video also did a demo of Peripera’s Wholly Deep Jewel Pot that forced me to also buy one of those … which will be here Tuesday. Like many lash extension wearers, I don’t like to mess too much with eye makeup. But I’ve been looking for a pigment-ish shadow that is intense and doesn’t require much fussing, and in the video Peripera’s Jewel Pots seemed to do that (finger application, no primer).

The depicted shade is “Be Edge,” and I picked “Sweet and Edgy Girl” of the available colors. Neither product has yet arrived and the eyeshadow will get here sooner, but I just wanted to drop knowledge for anyone looking for a Make Up For Ever yellow primer dupe or similar product (and shoutout one of my favorite KBeauty brands). I’m also waiting on Kat Von D Lock-It, and I’m jazzed to see how the longwear/full coverage of that works with a yellow blur primer. Updates forthcoming.
